Studying the book of Matthew
Hannah’s baptism
Talking to people about Jesus is the key to ministry. And so Michael and I have made goals to visit and to talk to more people. Recently, we have been studying the book of Matthew with an elder from church and are also giving confirmation classes to Gloria. Gloria called our office after finding our name in the phone book. She was looking for help for her baby. After we visited her and provided her with help, she began attending church. We rejoice that her son was recently baptized and that she now faithfully attends church. She plans to be baptized and confirmed in Dec.

As many already know, Susan and I recently celebrated the birth of our first child, Hannah Grace. She has already changed our lives. We can no longer just jump into the car and go. Nor can we run to the store quickly. No, it seems like nothing is done quickly anymore in our house. Now, we plan our days and nights around when she eats and sleeps. We go to the store or to the gym as she permits. And as we once again enter the busy advent season, we are reminded about the importance of slowing down and enjoying those around us. It is o.k. not to go, go, go but rather to just sit in a rocker and talk with a little person.

6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9
Front door of the school
The construction of the church/school has progressed significantly these past few months. We have installed tile, windows, doors and have two finished bathrooms.

In June we hosted a volunteer group from Florida. After they returned home they made a presentation to their congregation. A certain couple from the church heard it. Later, the husband (along with his team), was involved in and won an ESPN Caribbean fishing tournament off the coast of Mayaguez. Upon remembering the presentation about our mission, the couple decided to donate part of their winnings to our church. These funds will provide for a stained glass window and church pews. This of course is proof that God still can use fishermen today! Go team Sculley!
