          Model of future church building

Construction of our church/school building continues to be a main focus in our ministry right now.  The past few months have been exciting, as we have watched the workers prepare and then pour the church roof.  We hope to move our worship to the sanctuary by early fall.  Right now we continue to hold worship in a school classroom.

Ephesians 2
21 In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

The roof was poured in early May and will take three to four weeks to cure.  Since that time the concentration of the work has been on the bottom level.  In early June we will be hosting two more volunteer teams and hope that they will be able to paint the entire school level.

Pouring the roof of the church

Since our last newsletter we have hosted three volunteer teams from M.O.S.T. Ministries and also from Indiana.  These groups not only helped with our construction and Kid’s Club but also helped make over 100 evangelistic crosses, painted our church sign and prayer walked around our nearby community.

Making evangelistic crosses

Recently, Susan and I had the opportunity to share a Saturday with two families at a Puerto Rican restaurant.  We left early on Saturday morning, drove several hours, stopped along the way to explore the island’s natural beauty and then arrived at “El lago de dos bocas” which translates “Two mouths” lake.  There we took at 20 minute boat ride to our restaurant.

In early May we celebrated Susan’s 30th birthday.  This summer Susan and I will be in the States.  In late June we will attend a career missionary summit in St. Louis.  The plan afterwards is to visit family and friends.
