Dear Volunteers

-----We have so much to be thankful for your dedication, time, service and help. Let me just review for you what has happened in the last four months. We have had seven teams come down to help with the construction. What that means is that since January we've had 92 people come and visit us, representing over 15 churches, several colleges and high schools. They have come primarily from Iowa, Indiana and Michigan.

-----The groups have donated over $21,000 for the cost of materials. In addition, they have saved the mission about $55,000 with the work that they have done. Also, they have excited the church to take out a loan for the roof, the plastering of the building both inside and outside and for the windows. As of now, we need about $150,000 to finish the church and school completely. This includes carpentry work, painting, landscaping, tiling, flooring etc. We would like to invite you to come again this next winter if you feel like getting out of the cold. We would love to see you again, and know that you will want to see the progress on the building. In August, we hope to be worshipping in the sanctuary.

-----We would also like to say a special thanks to the groups who have come down for purposes other than construction. We appreciate you making signs, prayer walking, map-making, and helping with VBS. It is with great joy that we share that 70 crosses were handed out to individuals during Holy Week. The sign you made is seen by over 240 cars a day and lets people know where we are located. Also, over 750 maps have been handed out with our church address and kids are now coming over the river to have Sunday School! 150 bracelets have been handed out with the message of salvation shared. 200 tracts were handed out during Holy Week activities. 20 Kids came to VBS during the week, and 5-10 kids come to Sunday School each Sunday.

-----Thank you for helping. Everything is greatly appreciated: from loading up the van with chairs and tables to painting our church name on Big Red (the van); from setting up and taking down puppet stages to making cross and handing them out; from learning the message of the cross and sharing it in Spanish to praying around the community and mapping it out; from laying block and unloading it off trucks or loading it on the second story to mixing cement, lifting cement, moving cement and then mixing more cement. Thank you for the unseen work being done especially with the electricity, taking down panels, setting up scaffling, cleaning up messes, whacking weeds and cutting grass. Thank you for your wonderful attitudes and your willingness to serve. A final big thank you to the "pooh pooh" crew who constructed the septic tank. We appreciate all you have done and given!

-----Once again, thank you and God bless you and yours.

-----Please send all donations to PO Box 3085 Mayaguez, PR 00681.
